Lamar Valley 2

Lamar Valley in Wyoming's Yellowstone National Park, sometimes called the American Serengeti for the abundance of wildlife that can be found here. The foreground for this image shows clumps of sagebrush amidst the green Spring grasses. The muddy Lamar River, swollen from the Spring runoff, meanders through the left side of the image. In the distance are the foothills of the valley, covered with pine trees, and beyond that are snow-covered mountain peaks and a sky of dark rain-laden clouds.
