Looking out from beneath a tree at the waves crashing against the rocks and cliffs at Shore Acres State Park outside of Charleston in Oregon during a rain storm.
Sometimes you beat the weather, and sometimes it beats you. I saw the storm coming from over the horizon offshore. I knew I wouldn't make it back to my car in time, and gambled that I would be able to make it to the storm watching building at Shore Acres before the rains hit. I guessed wrong and had to take refuge under this tree to get some respite from the rain and capture this scene before slogging onward toward shelter at Shore Acres.
My rain gear kept my camera and lens dry, and it was one of the best hikes I had in that area.
