The Antelope Valley overlook is a favorite place for spotting wolves. It lies along the curving road from Lamar Valley up to the Mt Washburn pass. We always find rock squirrels (Citellus variegatus) in this area, quickly scurrying about in the tall grasses and jumbled rocks as they look for food. Though fast and fidgety, I finally managed to captured one that stayed still long enough, standing alert for possible danger, so I could immortalize his furry cuteness.
