A close-up portrait of a large bull Bison (Bison bison) grazing in a meadow at Hayden Valley in Yellowstone National Park. This magnificent bull was grazing in the meadow that lies between the Yellowstone River and the trail head to Mary's Mountain. The whole herd had just finished crossing the river and were en-route into the valley proper.

I think a cautionary safety note would be advisable here.

Always keep yourself safe when photographing wildlife. Stay focused but also be constantly aware of your surroundings. Always be sensitive to your subject's behavior. If the animal appears annoyed, leave it alone! Better yet, don't do anything to annoy it! Never attempt this kind of photo with a smart-phone.
