This is my photo assistant, Hachi-ko, or Hachi, for short. Hachi's job is to supervise and make sure I do things properly, preferably from the confines of a shaded tree. He performs his job admirably, with a sense of dedication that only a canine can exhibit.
Seriously, no matter what I do, be it photography, mowing the lawn, triming trees, or even digging up septic tanks, Hachi will be somewhere nearby under a shaded tree and watching me to make sure I do it right.
As an aside, Hachi is an American Akita. He joined our family when he was 11-months old. We found him at Petfinder.com when he was living with the good people at AkitaAdvocates.com in Phoenix.
