Desert Willows (Chilopsis linearis) are not really Willows. Native to the desert Southwest and Northern Mexico, they prefer to grow along riverbanks and washes. They do very well with little water and are frequently used for landscaping. They bloom from May through September and the large lavender-pink Pentstemon-looking flowers have a pleasing delicate aroma.
