A pair of Inca doves (Columbina inca) sitting on a creosote branch at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum outside of Tucson, Arizona.
These are small birds, common throughout their range which extends from the American Southwest to Costa Rica along the Pacific side of Central America. Interestingly, they were never found in any part of the Inca Empire.
